Your first appointment is a 50 minute session with your therapist, that usually feels a bit more like an intake appointment, in which your therapist asks questions to get to know you, your history and what goals you have for therapy.
-
Definitely. Nothing is ever off limits. Life is complex and we can’t predict what will come up day to day.
Other common areas of focus often include grief and loss; fertility, pregnancy and postpartum; major life transitions, including the ongoing transition into motherhood (matrescence); aging parents; intimate relationships; early childhood trauma; career uncertainty, and more. And if for any reason something feels outside my expertise, I will always let you know, and figure out ways for you to get the best support.

No, not just women! I’ve had many male clients over the years, with whom I’ve formed a very strong therapeutic bond. I value working with clients of all gender identities, as well as clients of all ages, from varying cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as sexual orientations.

On January 1, 2022, congress enacted a "No Surprises Act", which is a "new federal protection against surprise medical bills that take effect in 2022. Surprise medical bills arise when insured consumers inadvertently receive care from out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or other providers they did not choose". Under the law, healthcare providers, including mental health providers, must give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for services.
Your therapist believes in honesty and transparency. There will never be any surprise fees as you will be clearly informed of the cost per session before our first appointment. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Hannah regarding charges, fees, or any questions related to billing.
